Blog post by Katy Tainton

As a Wedding Photographer in South Wales, I’m all about capturing love stories that show the real bond between a couple. And today, I’ve got a beautiful one to share with you – the story of Verity and Ed, who decided to say "I do" in a dreamy June wedding at the King Arthur Hotel in the heart of Gower, South Wales.
In this blog, I'm going to talk about love at the King Arthur Hotel as a South Wales wedding photographer, with the lovely couple Verity and Ed.
My Day With V&E as a South Wales Wedding Photographer

The Morning Buzz: Verity's Getting Ready
Verity, our stunning bride, kicked off the day surrounded by the love and laughter of her parents and her two sisters, who also happened to be her bridesmaids. I was joined by videography duo extraordinaire, Posh Bear. It was a morning filled with excitement, and boy, did we make the most of it! As their South Wales wedding photographer, I documented all the wedding must-haves: the dress, the bouquet, the jewellery, and those gorgeous platform shoes that completed Verity's bridal look.
But you know what was truly magical? That 'first look' moment, where Verity revealed herself to her parents and sisters. There were tears, there were smiles – it was pure love, and we were there to capture it all.
Groomed for Love: Ed's Countdown
While Verity was adding the finishing touches, we headed over to the King Arthur Hotel to capture Ed, the man of the hour. The anticipation in the air was electric, and you could practically feel Ed's heart racing. It was one of those moments where real emotions shine through, and I made sure to catch every bit of it.
Ceremony Magic: Fairy Lights and Emotions
The wedding ceremony itself so beautiful, with the room bathed in the soft glow of this venues fairy light backdrop. Ed's emotions were on full display as Verity made her way down the aisle, looking an absolute vision. Once the vows were said and done, it was time for the confetti, a moment filled with love and well-wishes from friends and family. As their South Wales wedding photographer, we followed that up with some classic family photos, because after all, family is where the heart is.
Room of Dreams: The Decor
The King Arthur Hotel's cosy, wooden-beamed room is always a dream to photograph as a South Wales wedding photographer and on this day, it was decked out in shades of pink, white, and purple, thanks to the incredible florist, Ruth Milton-Jones.
The Whole Gang: Bridal Party Portraits
Next I focused my lens on the bridal party and the groomsmen. It was all about capturing those genuine, candid moments that make weddings so special.
The couple photos were taken in the garden, where the meadow was adorned with beautiful, large white daisies. These flowers added a touch of whimsy and natural beauty to the portraits, framing Verity and Ed's beautifully.
Speeches That Tug at the Heartstrings
As the day flowed on, I was there to capture the heartfelt speeches that brought both tears and laughter as their South Wales wedding photographer. Plus, as always I captured countless candid moments of guests and the happy couple, all wrapped up in the pure joy of the day.
Dance Like No One's Watching: Cake Cutting and First Dance
After the speeches we popped outside to take advantage of the gorgeous golden light before the sun set for a few more portraits in the King Arthur garden.
The celebrations continued with the cake cutting, a symbol of love and togetherness. Verity and Ed shared a magical moment for their first dance, but what stole the spotlight was a rendition of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary." Verity channelled Tina, and with the help of her sisters, they turned the dance floor into a whirlwind of energy, laughter, and love.
