Picture a cliffside venue overlooking the sea, with breathtaking views and a day filled with love. This was the setting for Catrin and Tom’s wedding at The Cliff Hotel near Cardigan this April. As their South Wales wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing every moment of their special day. Here’s a look at some of the highlights, from morning preparations to an incredible fireworks finale. If you’re planning a high-end wedding in South Wales, read on for some serious inspiration!
Morning Preparations
The day kicked off with a flurry of activity as Catrin and her bridal party got ready. Chelsea Benger worked her makeup magic, while Wedding Hair by Claire Louise crafted beautiful hairstyles for the bride and bridesmaids.
Working alongside talented videographer Matt from Inspire Weddings, we took the opportunity to hang Catrin’s dress out on the balcony overlooking the incredible views, before its big moment. I took some detailed shots of her shoes, jewellery, and flowers. Just a few doors down, Tom and his groomsmen were getting ready, their excitement and camaraderie on full display.
A Special First Look
Catrin’s first look with her father was just beautiful. His reaction to seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time was a truly touching moment as he beamed with pride.
A Heartfelt Ceremony
The ceremony, set against the stunning sea backdrop, was incredibly moving. With music by Bronwen Lewis, the atmosphere was perfect as Catrin and Tom exchanged their vows. The love and connection between them were clear to everyone present.
Cliffside Portraits
After the ceremony, we headed outside for some confetti photos and group shots on the lawn, with the breathtaking cliffside views as our backdrop. Then, we took a walk along the cliffs to a secluded rocky cove for some intimate couple portraits. The natural beauty of the location, combined with Catrin and Tom’s love, made for some stunning photos.
Elegant Reception and Heartfelt Speeches
The reception decor was simple and elegant, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of the venue. The speeches that followed were both heartfelt and funny, bringing laughter and tears to the room.
Magical Entertainment
Magician Adam Reeves entertained the guests with his incredible tricks, creating plenty of laughter and amazement. As the evening continued, the dance floor came alive with the energy of the first dance and the party that followed. I captured some great dance floor moments as everyone celebrated.
Golden Hour Gorgeousness
Just in time for golden hour, we stepped outside to capture some breathtaking photos as the sun set over the sea. The golden light created a romantic ambiance, resulting in some truly beautiful shots of Catrin and Tom.
Fireworks Finale
The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display by the Art of Sparks. The night sky lit up in a dazzling array of colours, providing a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
